Co-lead the implementation of the new calendar with the IT department.

Grouping by departments, categories and tags to allow for proper organization.

Widgets/RSS feeds to allow the distribution of the event’s content from the centralized system into college’s (departments, units, etc.) sites or apps.

Training workshops to empower editors to create better events in the platform and on-going support of the system plus proactively reaching out to units for adoption.

Milestones

Phase 0: Build vs. buy analysis

  • Assessment of resources, timelines and cost.

  • Decision to buy the solution rather than build since this is a matured space with well-defined requirements and features.

  • Had to build an in-house component for Core to suffice while the solution was being deployed.

 

Phase 1: Implementation and migration from previous system plus platform setup (channels, departments, tags, FAQs, etc.)

Phase 2: Adoption and engagement across the university

  • Defined a list of colleges, schools, and administrative units that must be enrolled in the calendar.

  • Proactively reached out and assisted the teams setting up and getting them up and running with the solution.

Phase 3: Maintenance and support plus funding establishment
