About me
Born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela. Moved to USA in fall 2007 to attend college at UCF where I played for the men’s tennis team. Graduated with a BS in Computer Science (Dec 2011), moved to Miami to join FIU’s women’s tennis team as the assistant coach while pursuing a MS in Computer Science (Dec 2013). Did a couple of internships at Royal Caribbean and CAP Government. Returned to FIU as a full stack engineer, worked with an amazing team ❤️ for ~7 years + completed a MS in Data Science (Apr 2020). Most recently, transitioned to Product Management at Citrix and now Microsoft.
Apps
Had the privilege to collaborate with my good friend Racine Davis on building two mobile apps. She handled design and I worked on development (Objective-C). Together we went from ideas to deployed on the app store. One of the most exciting experiences for sure.

Work
The following collection of projects represents the most interesting challenges we faced at FIU. It was an honor to be part of such an amazing team where we grew together for about 7 years. It was an exciting journey, starting as a full stack engineer and progressing up to leading the team.

Digital Accessibility
Co-lead for policy and procedures establishment in this discipline, working with a cross-functional team across Compliance, IT, General Counsel, Student Affairs – Disability Resource Center (DRC), Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA), and FIU Online.
Member of the policy working group from the Office of Compliance to support institution-wide efforts.
Attended training at WebAIM in Logan, Utah - September 2017.

Data analytics
Created a part-time position for Data Analytics to support proof of concepts for this branch of work as well as an institution-wide plan.
Establishment of data analytics involvement for client projects during the kick-off phase to collaborate in goals setting, KPI definitions and success metrics.

FIU Digital meetup
Co-created a shared space to collaborate and exchange ideas that benefits the overall digital presence regardless of the organizational structure.
Per semester sessions with guest speaker and locations across the university.
Managed internal communications, topics, potential speakers, schedule, and budget.

Collaboration across teams with Dept. of Emergency Management, Media Relations, and IT.
Alerts.fiu.edu 🎉 (2018) as a site to house current/active alerts, historical ones as well as complementary information such as police contact information, among others depending on the nature of the incident(s).
Ability to sustain spikes in traffic while providing timely information by removing the technological bottlenecks and acting as a recipient/channel to convey the messages.
